Teaching
Dr. Rubaii has taught undergraduate- and graduate-level courses in Cultural Anthropology, Environmental Studies, Community Studies, American Studies, and Feminist Studies. A selection of courses taught by Dr. Rubaii include: “Political Ecologies,” “War and Public Health,” “Understanding Power,” “Ethical Materialism,” “Displacement and Dispossession,” “Anthropology of Global Health,” “The Anthropocene: Environment, Culture, and Society,” “Anthropology of Militarism,” “Anthropology of Violence,” “Methods and Ethics in Anthropology,” and “Public Speaking.” She has received numerous teaching awards, including the 2026 Purdue University College of Liberal Arts Kofmehl Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award, the 2025 Purdue University Department of Anthropology Graduate Mentorship Award, the 2024 Purdue University Department of Anthropology, Excellence in Graduate Teaching Award, the 2024 Purdue University Health and Human Sciences Faculty Favorites Mentorship Award, 2024, the 2021 Purdue University Teaching Academy Award for Exceptional Teaching and Instructional Support during the COVID-19 Pandemic, and the Purdue University Anthropology Department Teaching Award at Purdue University for 2020-21.
